steve is kean but not out!!!!!

19 Sep

protests have already started on the management of blackburn rovers after a difficult season thus far. steve kean shown awareness of this protest but states that the percentage of unhappy fans is minimal and convinced that the 98% of rovers fan base are content with the current situation.

skysports interview of steve kean

victory over arsenal last saturday will help his case in gaining 100% support of spectators however, this was an abismal second half performance from the gunners that saw arsene wenger’s team in a spectacular capitulation at ewood park by leading 2-0 to conceding two own goals and eventually losing 4-3 to blackburn.

fernando does a rosenthal

19 Sep

the infamous miss from liverpool’s ronnie rosenthal at villa park during the first premier league season is one humorous and unforgettable memory from my childhood, and with no disrespect intended towards ronnie but fernando torres missing an open goal is worse and very uncharacteristic from a player of his calibre.

if neutral football spectators and pundits are yet to feel sorry for the spanish international striker so far, then might do so after sundays missed opportunity to score his second goal of the match at old trafford. since his move to chelsea the form of torres has been woeful in front of goal, but the player appeared more determined to open his goal account for the season and shown flashes of brilliance that gave him such respect and recognition as one of the best strikers in the world.

the final score was 3-1 to united and the fernando miss was one of many dramatic moments in a spectacular premier league match.

qpr have got bottle this season

18 Sep

this was surely one of the football’s seasons most comical moments to be featured in a bloopers montage. shaun derry shows delight at being interviewed after victory at molineux, only to be humiliated by an off camera culprit to toss an empty plastic bottle at his face….good header mind!

canaries wanderer off with maximum points

18 Sep

norwich city complete a full house of victories for newly promoted sides in saturday’s premier league fixtures as they picked maximum points at the reebok stadium. the canaries claimed their first victory in the premier league since been promoted along with swansea city and another win for qpr and completed a great day for all of the new boys.

anthony pilkington, and bradley johnson scored in a 2-1 away win that leaves bolton to a deflating fifth successive home defeat and an unwanted club record. klasnic hit the self destruct button by geting sent off for brushing heads with tierney, who could also be nominated for an oscar with his play acting antics.

city manager, paul lambert spoke of his teams positive performances this season that has led to a deserved result in yesterday’s match. norwich have actually ended a 17 year wait for an away win, removing doubt that canaries would have to rely on home performances to stay in the top flight.

rangers tame the wolves

18 Sep

new summer signing, joey barton established his commitment to the cause to newly promoted qpr after his first half brace at molineux in yesterday’s match. the midfield maestro scored the first of three goals in an impressive away victory for rangers.

post match antics from barton nearly over shadowed a fairly comfortable victory in a scuffle over a late elbow challenge, and his enticing taunts to wolves fans by directing his hand signalling of the final score to the home terraces. neil warnock admitted in a post match interview that his message of enjoying the game and playing with a smile on the faces contributed to fluid play from his team.

feathers exchanged when hawthorns and canaries collide

16 Sep

norwich city’s james vaughn is shown bleeding from a contentious clash with the hawthorns defender, tamas from sundays 1-0 defeat at carrow road. the incident took place in the penalty box with no foul given for the incident, yet gabriel tamas has consequently accepted the fa’s post match charge of violent conduct.

norwich city’s manager, paul lambert  seems to be a man that prevents to ponder on sour grapes, but even the most neutral of football spectators will notice a familiar pattern developing with a lack of decisions swinging in favour of the canaries this season.

“At the minute we are getting punished when we are playing well which is frustrating but the effort and commitment is there, I can’t complain about the lads,” Lambert told Sky Sports.

the culprit, tamas will face a three match ban, but for norwich the damage has already been done as they lost the home game by one goal. in addition, james vaughn gave lip to the cause on more than occasion as he responded on twitter after needing plastic surgery from the tamas clash.

“Back home! plastic surgeon sorted me out! think i will have to bite my lip over the ‘incident’ o wait already done that!”

to lose 6-1 may be regarded as a misfortune. to lose 8-2 seems like carelessness.

28 Aug

arsenal fans may have conveniently forgotten their teams collapse at old trafford in 2001 when utd won 6-1, but nothing can compare to an embarrassing display for the gunners in an 8-2 demolition job by the red devils this weekend.

if arsene wenger was not feeling the pressure to strengthen his squad before the game, then he certainly will post match.

a positive and pivotal moment in the game would have to be a wayne rooney hat-trick which confirms his return back to form after an unsettling 12 months.
